Background
DOTIAM was a project initially conceptualised during a 36 hackathon. After winning the Easy A x Polkadot hackathon over 36 hours, which included creating a basic MVP of the product and product demo, further research and design was needed to begin introducing the product to market and landing grants and acquiring funding to further the development of the project. I was the sole designer working in a team of software engineers. This case study outlines how I explored how to improve our current offering and validate product-market fit.
Our team won the hackathon and a prize of $4000 for our basic frontend UI and simple backend we had put together over 36 hours
This was our initial UI at the end of the hackathon.
Approach
Collaborating with the developers, I created information architecture for the site, mapped out a user flow journey and conducted user testing to evaluate the website quality.
Working with the team, I put together a flow diagram and information architecture for the site.
I conducted several rounds of user research, the help evaluate website quality.
Results
Informed by this research, we were able to create a more developed website that better communicated our value proposition and reduced user confusion/uncertainty.
Impact
This redesign helped better communicate the value of our product and also was important in helping the product gain community funding through the ASTAR open funding network.
